Making a difference when it comes to fraud prevention

Where Communication Professionals Go to Know

Why Our Work Matters: Highlights from the CFCA Summer Educational Event 2026

Earlier this month CFCA Summer Educational Event 2026 brought together fraud management professionals, communications providers, technology vendors, and industry experts from around the world for two days of learning, collaboration, and knowledge sharing in Stockholm, Sweden.

Kindly hosted by Communications Provider Sinch, the event focused on the evolving fraud landscape and the growing importance of cross-industry collaboration in combating increasingly sophisticated threats. Delegates benefited from a diverse agenda featuring expert presentations, interactive discussions, and practical case studies designed to help organizations better understand and address emerging fraud challenges.

Throughout the event, speakers explored a range of topics impacting the telecommunications ecosystem, including voice fraud, messaging fraud, artificial intelligence, identity verification, scam prevention, and the role of collaboration between communications providers, technology companies, regulators, and law enforcement agencies. A recurring theme across many sessions was the need for organizations to work together, share intelligence, and adopt proactive strategies to stay ahead of rapidly evolving fraud tactics.

A session that stood out was that of Kirsty Guest, who courageously shared her firsthand experience as a victim of a heartbreaking Romance Scam. Her story offered a compelling and human perspective on the consequences of fraud, reinforcing the importance of the industry’s efforts to prevent scams and protect consumers. It was an important reminder why our work matters and that we are all fighting for consumer and victim protection!

In addition to the educational sessions, the event provided valuable networking opportunities, enabling attendees to connect with peers, discuss common challenges and even some fun was had with a games night and a boat trip around the Stockholm Archipelagos.

These conversations are often just as valuable as the formal presentations, helping to foster stronger industry relationships and encouraging ongoing cooperation long after the event has concluded.

CFCA would like to thank all speakers, sponsors and attendees who contributed to the success of the event.

Special thanks go to Sinch for their generous hospitality and support in hosting the gathering.

We look forward to continuing these important conversations at future CFCA events and meetings around the world.
