Steve Schwed, HTTF Co-Chair and Fraud Strategy Manager at Verizon said:
“American wireless carriers are looking forward to collaborating with our industry partners to share intelligence on how mobile devices are being stolen and trafficked throughout the world. By sharing this intelligence, we will be better prepared to close gaps that are currently being exploited by threat actors and driving various costs and insecurity into the primary and secondary markets and ultimately impacting consumers who are victimized. By working together and with Law Enforcement, the industry can share our learnings and bring about faster solutions to this increasing problem”.
The first meeting took place this week with members from, Charter Communications, T-Mobile, USCellular, Quick Ship Brands, Recipero, Verizon, AT&T, Asurion, and Somos attending.
