I thought for this issue of Communicator I was going to write about our recently hosted event in West Palm Beach, Florida, about the content of the presentations, the networking, lessons learnt, highlights of our 35th year celebration and more. But sadly, the Covid-19 pandemic changed it all. Social distancing, lockdowns, and travel restrictions has meant that many of us have been confined to our homes for the last few months. But CFCA did not let a pandemic stop them sharing and collaborating and the ‘Summer of Education’, which is an expansion of our regular ‘KNOW’ sessions has been a great success since its launch at the beginning June.
In June we held sixteen ‘Summer of Education’ KNOW sessions that has included CFCA sponsors and members taking some time out of their busy days to share their experiences, thoughts and knowledge to a wider audience. These sessions are not closed to only members like the usual KNOW sessions, but open to everyone who is interested to hear about telecoms fraud and risk issues. To date we have had registrations from Latin America, Europe, Middle East, and Africa which is great to see.
July is another great month of live webinars, including presentations with representation from GSMA Fraud Forum, M3AAWG, Europol to name just a few from the twenty webinars that are being run in July.
Hopefully, when I write my snippet for the next issue of the Communicator newsletter, I will be talking about our forthcoming planned live educational event, where we can have the opportunity to meet in person once again. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the rest of the Summer of Education sessions. Do not forget to register and watch and listen to your colleagues in the industry. If you have missed them or cannot attend, go to our YouTube site to catch up.
